So…recently someone I follow said they were planning on making an axolotl plushie for one of their friends. This gave me the idea that I should crochet one for my boyfriend since he likes axolotls. I searched online for patterns for axolotls but the ones I found that were free weren’t to my liking. So I starting trying to write my own pattern. Three days later…here is the product of my hard work.
Note: You can share the pattern but please don’t sell the pattern as your own or claim that it is of your invention. You can sell axolotls you make from the pattern but please give me credit for creating the pattern. If you are selling online simply link to this post. If you are selling in person please put my wordpress url on the back of a tag of the axolotl. Thank you!
Now to the fun part! The pattern itself!

Tie off & weave in ends.
Legs: (make 4)
Ch 6 and slst to make loop.
Rd 1-8: sc in each st around. (6 st)
Ch 4, slst opening together to close it. Do this 4 times to make 4 toes for each leg.
Tie off and weave in ends. Use a yarn needle to sew the legs onto the body. It’s best to use your judgment for this or my picture for an example.
Head Frills: (2 total, 1 on each side)
Slst yarn in back sides of head, ch 20, slst in same place, ch 15, slst in next space toward front of head, ch 10, slst in same space. Tie off and weave in ends. I would use your judgment as to where to place the frills. You can use my picture as an example as well.
Now you have achieved axolotl awesomeness! Pat yourself on the back for your hard work.
